E61 Bottomless Portafilter - 58 mm, 3-cup

Our portafilters undergo a process where they are first made naked and then chrome plated to achieve a beautiful finish. Please be aware that we will not be held responsible if the portafilter does not fit due to any changes made by the manufacturer of your espresso machine. Our new stock no longer includes the end cap at the end of the handle. Despite coming with a 3 cup basket, you are not obligated to pull 3 shots every time you use it. You have the option to pull a single or double shot for a more concentrated flavor profile and increased crema, but it is important to still fill the basket as intended. Additionally, you have the option to use this handle with a 58mm one or two cup basket.

In many instances, customers who switch to this portafilter find that they need to adjust the grind coarseness when moving from a single or double dose portafilter or filter basket. The reason for this is that the bottomless/naked portafilter typically holds more coffee in the basket. If the grind fineness is not adjusted accordingly, it can result in no pour, a slow pour, or leakage around the grouphead area. Therefore, we recommend slightly coarsening the grind for optimal results.

It is important to note that this item is specifically designed to fit prosumer E61 groupheads and will not fit machines made by Breville, Saeco, Gaggia, Delonghi, Capresso, Jura, Marzocco, Pasquini Livia 90, or Pasquini Livietta. It is compatible with most E61 groups on machines such as Wega, Rancilio, Bianchi, Vibiemme, Bfc, Cbc Royal, La Scala, SV SAB, Grimac, San Remo, and Crem Expobar. Our true size 3 cup filter baskets are capable of holding up to 21 grams of ground coffee, offering a unique advantage. When switching from smaller baskets, we recommend using a slightly coarser grind for best results.
